Driss Azzoug, iconoclastic cheesemaker, social networking virtuoso... and a loyal guest at the Cheese and Dairy Products Show!
Just one visit to the website of La Meulerie (Marseille) and you'll realise that you're not really in an ordinary cheese shop...
Colourful and dynamic, the website reflects the image of this new-generation dairy, which was launched at the end of 2021 in the Panier quarter and already has three locations in the city. As you can see on its Facebook page and on Instagram, La Meulerie places great value on social networking, which is why Driss Azzoug was invited to speak at a conference on the subject organised on 26 February 2024 at the show by the French Cheesemakers' Federation (Fédération des Fromagers de France).
In this interview video, Driss Azzoug concentrates on the main content of his speech, which is based on one key point: ‘The most important thing is to be organised. My advice would really to take advantage of two or three hours a month to do your social networking.
That always gives you a margin to do your stories. It's important because you don't always have the time... If you have ten or so pictures in advance, your stories are already ready.
But while La Meulerie attaches great importance to social networking, it has not ignored the importance of physical, as illustrated by Driss Azzoug's attachment to the Cheese and Dairy Products Show: ‘It's the first opportunity I've had to meet the profession. Even before we opened, I came, and it gave me the opportunity to meet lots of people.’
